At Thunderhead Charolias, we offer age advantaged bulls.
Our breeding program is based on calving
ease, easy dispositions, good feet and
legs, and the ability to perform in the feedlot.
After weaning the bulls are developed on
grass, no fat bulls or foot problems from a hot
feeding program. The demand for Charolais
cross calves is strong. The need for heterosis
in a breeding program for improved health
and increased weaning and carcass weight is
real. The effect of hybrid vigor is a powerful
force on weaning weight. Research shows
that crossbreeding can increase weaning
weight by 15%. That amounts to an extra 75
pounds of weaning weight due to
crossbreeding.
Our commitment is to serve you by selecting
herd sires that are easy calving, will continue
to increase weaning weight, perform in the
feedlot, and grade Choice when hanging on
the rail.
